NEC Storage HS is a grid-based secondary storage solution. Unlike traditional tape or disk-based systems NEC Storage HS utilizes data compression (DataRedux), automatic optimization (DynamicTopology), and distributed data redundancy (Distributed Resilient Data) technologies.

Space reclamation refers to the process of recovering free space that has been made available after deleting files.
